Fee waivers

In special circumstances, the CTTT will consider requests from applicants for the fee payment to be waived.

Fee waiver requests are considered under clause 45(4) Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal Regulation 2009 (or clause 17 Strata Schemes Management Regulation 1997 and clause 21 Community Land Management Regulation 2007 for strata and community schemes disputes). Under these clauses, the Registrar may direct that any fee required to be paid may be waived wholly or in part.

Each fee waiver request is considered on its merits.  As a general rule, fees may only be waived due to an individual’s financial hardship.

How to request a fee waiver

If you wish to request a fee waiver, submit a full explanation of your reasons and any evidence in writing together with your application by post, in person or in fax to your local CTTT Registry.  A request for a fee waiver cannot be made via CTTT Online.

If your fee waiver request is approved, you will be advised by telephone.

If your fee waiver request is refused, a letter will be sent to you advising that payment of the fee is required.  If no fee is received within 28 days your application may be delayed or dismissed without hearing.

If you hold a pensioner concession card or a NSW Seniors Card, you are entitled to pay a reduced fee of $5.00.  Find out if you are eligible for a pensioner and student concession.
