NSW Fair Trading is undertaking a re-write of the Home Building Act 1989 which licenses and regulates builders and other contractors undertaking residential building work in NSW.

A consultation paper has been prepared which outlines the number of options for reform that could be incorporated into the new Act.  The consultation paper has been released for public consultation.

Visit NSW Fair Trading website to download the consultation paper and submit comments on the options for reform.

The closing date for submissions is 19 March 2010.
