Aboriginal DVD 'Getting a Fair Go at the CTTT'

Aboriginal DVD 'Getting a fair go at the CTTT' cover art12 October 2009

Fair Trading Minister Virginia Judge today launched the CTTT's new DVD aimed at helping Aboriginal consumers to get a fair go.

This latest educational resource is designed to help Aboriginal communities understand how accessible the CTTT is and learn how Aboriginal people can use the CTTT to sort out their dispute.

The DVD provides a step-by-step guide on how an application is made to the CTTT and how problems may be resolved.  Aboriginal actors feature in two stories about disputes that are brought to the CTTT.

The first story is about a woman who is about to lose her home because she is behind in paying the rent.  The second story is about a young man whose second-hand car has broken down just outside the warranty period and the dealer refuses to fix it.

The DVD shows Aboriginal consumers how those issues are resolved with the help of the CTTT.

The DVD Getting a Fair Go at the CTTT can be viewed online.  A copy of the DVD can also be ordered by contacting the Communication and Education Team at CommEdCTTT@cttt.nsw.gov.au or by telephone (02) 9641 6440.
