Updated Chairperson's Directions for accepting building claims
20 May 2008
Under section 48(J) of the Home Building Act 1989, before the CTTT can accept a Home Buidling application the dispute must first be investigated.
The Chairperson's Directions for ‘Acceptance of Building Claims’ explains the circumstances when a Home Building application to the CTTT can be accepted without an investigation.
The Chairperson's Directions were recently updated to reflect amendments to the Home Building Act to include pre-purchase property inspections. The updated Directions also allow the acceptance of applications where a company has been de-registered or where a company or individual is in liquidation or administration.
